Sarah Palin Charges for Rape Kits

Lest we forget…

Yes. Sarah Palin fired the police chief who included rape kits in his law enforcement budget and hired one who would eliminate this line item. At the same time, she spent $50,000 to remodel the storefront mayor’s office in Wasilla. The new decor included ugly, gaudy, red flocked wallpaper. Click the link above to see the actual pattern. The 50 grand was four times more than the police chief had asked for a year’s worth of kits, so would have covered four years worth of rape kits for the crime victims of Wasilla.

In response to Palin’s actions in Wasilla, the Alaska State legislature passed a bill, HR270, which outlawed this practice statewide and required any law enforcement agency investigating a rape to pay for the investigation, including the rape kit.

John McCain’s running mate thinks that the Constitution protects political candidates from being criticized by the press.

Okay, first of all, this woman claims to have majored in journalism. And she doesn’t understand what the First Amendment really is?

Here’s what I think. This woman is dumb but she (and her handlers) are also very, very calculating. They know there are actually folks out there (their so-called “base”) who will believe this.

I find her more frightening than stupid. The disinformation being spread to the “low information” types is really destructive.
